-Thatís not what motivates me, Iím interested in a DVD
Why just release a new studio album when you can turn it into a box set packaged with two added DVDs? As TISM might say of the idea, Itís novel. Itís unique. Itís shithouse. DVD one is the legendary Save Our TISM Telethon concert from Melbourne last year. TISM performed an incredible show in front of a bank of volunteers working the phones trying to raise a million dollars or else the band would split up. At the end of the show itís announced that they are a dollar short and the band exits while distraught fans chant TISM are wankers. DVD two is a compilation of: historic live footage spanning 1983 to 2002; Ron and Humphrey philosophising on aspects of their youth; and all of TISMís film clips. Combined, this three hours plus of viewing is as significant a contribution to Australian cultural history as Shane Warneís spinning finger is to sport. Then we have the new album, sorry albun. Musically itís as bold as Diorama, its lyrics as insightful as anything Thom Yorke could pen and itís humour richer than the Big Brother prize. Overall itís more giving than John Howard in pre-election mode. If you donít agree, you can always sing along to TISM Are Shit.
